MANILA, Philippines – Two teenage brothers were arrested yesterday for the murder of a pediatrician in San Mateo, Rizal whose body was found in the septic tank of his home.
Police officers tracked down Dr. Jesus Comedido’s 17-year-old “adopted” son and his 13-year-old brother to their house in Sitio Dalakit in Monreal, Masbate.
Police said a black mobile phone – possibly owned by the victim – was confiscated from the brothers, who will be taken back to San Mateo to face charges.
According to initial reports, the suspects may have killed the 60-year-old doctor after robbing his house. Comedido had stab wounds in the neck and chin. His head also had a bump, police said.
Comedido’s naked body was found in the septic tank of his house in Bancom Subdivision at around 9 a.m. on Oct. 18.
Rizal police director Senior Superintendent Bernabe Balba earlier said they were looking for the brothers, who were seen leaving the house on Oct. 16.
Balba said the victim’s two laptop computers and two mobile phones were missing. Neighbors said they heard the victim scolding the two for his missing phones and computer.
Police said the victim could have been killed on Oct. 16, a few hours after the two suspects were seen leaving the house.
Comedido’s relatives reported him missing after his clients informed them that the doctor had not reported to his clinics.
