Doctor found dead in septic tank

MANILA, Philippines - A doctor was found dead inside the septic tank of his house in Barangay Gulod Malaya, San Mateo, Rizal yesterday.

Superintendent Ruben Piquero, San Mateo police chief, said investigators could not yet establish the cause of the doctor’s death as the body was already bloated when found.

The search for victim Jesus Jumidito was prompted by a Cebu-based relative who could not contact him for several days.

“We sent the (victim’s) body to the crime laboratory for autopsy. We cannot say as of this time the cause of death. We will wait for the result of the autopsy,” Piquero said.

Piquero said they are eyeing Jumidito’s helpers, brothers JR and Ryan Flores, as possible suspects.

“His neighbors said they heard him scolding the two for the loss of his laptop and (mobile) phones,” he added.
