Aguilar’s wife running for mayor

MANILA, Philippines - The wife of Las Piñas Mayor Vergel Aguilar filed yesterday her certificate of candidacy (COC) for the city’s top post in the 2016 elections.

Imelda Aguilar said she would continue the programs implemented by her husband such as free education, social services and environment protection.

She is running under the Nacionalista Party banner, with Vice Mayor Luis Bustamante as her running mate.

The candidates for councilor running under Aguilar’s ticket are (District 1) Mark Anthony Santos, Ben Quilatan,  Filemon Aguilar III, Alfredo Miranda, Renan Hans Riguera and Florante dela Cruz; and (District 2) Carlo Aguilar, Henry Medina, Bonifacio Riguera, Danilo Hernandez, Ignacio Sangga and Rubymar Ramos.

The mayor is now on his third and last term.
