Trader gunned down in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines - A 45-year-old trader was shot dead at his shop in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City Friday afternoon, police said yesterday.

Romie Merano was putting his merchandise into a tricycle when an unidentified assailant shot him in front of his nephew, Raffy Labana, and a helper, Police Officer 2 Julius Raz said.

Labana tried to help his uncle but ran and sought help from barangay officials when the assailant turned on him.

Police officers recovered two .45 caliber bullet shells.
