Man nabbed for ‘sextortion’

MANILA, Philippines - National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents arrested a 26-year-old man at a motel in Pasay City for allegedly blackmailing his former girlfriend to have sex with him by threatening to upload their sex video on the Internet.

The complainant told the NBI that Mark Glen Sanchez repeatedly demanded sex from her in exchange for not posting the sex video.

The complainant, who is married and has a child with another man, said she initially agreed to the suspect’s terms but he did not stop blackmailing her.

The complainant said that to show that he was serious about his demands, Sanchez sent snippets of the sex video to her friends, relatives and workmates.

Sanchez allegedly told the complainant that he will send the whole video if she does not give in to his demands. NBI cybercrime division executive officer Vic Lorenzo said Sanchez may be charged with rape and violating the laws penalizing violence against women and voyeurism.
