MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested three Nigerians and a Filipina for alleged possession of P215,000 worth of illegal drugs in a sting in Las Piñas City yesterday.
Celestine Chukwudozie and his Filipina partner Frezel were nabbed along with Johnson Ejiuwa and Henry Ukpabia for selling 200 grams of shabu and a brick of marijuana to a police officer who posed as a buyer, Chief Inspector Enrico Figueroa, head of the QCPD anti-illegal drugs special operations task group, said.
Recovered from the suspects were several plastic bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a Toyota Altis with license plate ZMX-323.
Figueroa said they have been monitoring the illegal activities of the Nigerians, believed to be members of the West African drug ring, prior to their arrest.
The QCPD coordinated the operation with the Southern Police District.
Police said the suspects were nabbed in an entrapment operation in a restaurant along Zapote Road, Barangay Talon Dos in Las Piñas.
Figueroa said they would inform the Nigerian embassy of the suspects’ arrest.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
