Glitch slows down LRT-1 trains

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A signaling fault slowed down trains at the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) from their normal speed of 40 kilometers per hour to 25 kph during yesterday morning’s rush hour.

Citing passenger safety, the Light Rail Manila Consortium said in its official Twitter account (@officialLRT1) the trains were slowed down to 25 kph since 8:19 a.m. due to a “system-wide signaling fault.”

The consortium sent an engineering team to the affected site at around 11 a.m. to bring back the trains to their normal speed.

Normal operations resumed before 2 p.m., the consortium said.
