MANILA, Philippines - Two alleged drug pushers were attacked, reportedly by vigilantes, in separate incidents in Malabon City yesterday.
Police officers found the body of Allan Legazpi along Samson street in Barangay Concepcion at past midnight after a passing resident made a report.
They found a 9mm bullet shell, two sachets of shabu and a note – which identified Legazpi as a pusher and told the reader not to follow his example – on top of the victim’s body.
At around 9 a.m., Alexander Medinilla, 32, was shot in Barangay Longos. He is being treated at the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon.
Malabon police chief Senior Superintendent Severino Abad denied knowing about vigilante attacks but said he will look into reports that a group operates in the city.
Northern Police District director Chief Superintendent Eric Serafin Reyes told The STAR they will dig deeper into the attacks. He said the illegal drug trade is one of the concerns aired by the mayors of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela when he assumed office in July.
