MANILA, Philippines - Two brothers, who claimed to be members of the Joson clan in Nueva Ecija, reportedly beat up a man in Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City Thursday night.
City police chief Senior Superintendent Alan Nobleza identified the victim as Karlo Alfonso Santiago, 26, a resident of the village, and the suspects as Christian and Angelo Joson, also residents of Ayala Alabang.
According to police reports, Santiago was with his father, Alfonso, and a three-year-old nephew in a golf cart when a white Toyota Prado (XLU 831) blocked their way at around 9 p.m. and its occupants started berating them for allegedly blocking the road.
The suspects and a woman allegedly took turns beating Santiago until the victim lost consciousness.
The attack was witnessed by Santiago’s father and nephew, police said. The suspects sped away after the incident.
The suspects, who remain at large, claimed they belonged to the Joson clan of Nueva Ecija when they were arguing with the victim.
They face charges of frustrated homicide, serious physical injuries and child abuse, Nobleza said.
