P1-M reward up for Pastor widow, alleged lover

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The family of slain international car racer Ferdinand “Enzo” Pastor offered P1 million yesterday to anyone who can help police arrest his widow and her alleged lover, who reportedly masterminded his murder.

Dahlia Guerrero-Pastor and businessman Domingo “Sandy” de Guzman have been in hiding since a Regional Trial Court in Quezon City issued a warrant for their arrest last month.

Enzo’s mother, Remy, said they will give P500,000 each to those who will tell the whereabouts of Guerrero-Pastor and De Guzman. She said that the reward was pooled from contributions made by friends and family.

“It has been one month (since the arrest warrant was issued) and nothing happened. A lot of my friends are telling me that they have spotted the two somewhere,” she told reporters during a press conference in Quezon City.

Remy insisted that that offering a reward would intensify efforts to catch the suspects, just like what happened to Police Officer 2 Edgar Angel – the alleged gunman – after Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte offered P1 million for his arrest.

Angel is facing charges of murder and frustrated murder in connection with the attack on Pastor and his aide.

Tom, the victim’s father, said he is not questioning the efforts of the police to arrest the suspects in his son’s murder.

In August this year, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 91 issued a warrant of arrest for Guerrero-Pastor and De Guzman for Pastor’s killing.

Guerrero-Pastor was charged with parricide while De Guzman was charged with murder, both with no bail recommended. They were implicated and tagged as the masterminds in Pastor’s murder by Angel.

The 33-year-old car racer was driving a truck on June 12, 2014 and had to stop at the corner of Visayas Avenue and Congressional Avenue Extension when a gunman approached and shot him.

Reports said he was transporting a race car to Pampanga from Batangas when he was attacked as he stopped at a traffic light at around 10 p.m.

Guerrero-Pastor’s lawyer, Ruy Rondain, said his client will only appear if the case filed against her is dismissed. He added that she is still in the country.
