MANILA, Philippines - Manila’s homicide investigators on Friday obtained new pieces of evidence against a pilot accused of murdering his mother-in-law, the wife of a Department of Education (DepEd) official.
These include a bloodstained pair of blue-and-white boat shoes, a pair of blue denim pants and two polo shirts, one light blue and the other green.
Maria Theresa Menguito Edquilang, 32, turned over the evidence against her husband, pilot John Adrian Edquilang, to the Manila Police District (MPD) homicide division on Friday night.
Maria Theresa is a daughter of victim Lucita Menguita and DepEd Assistant Secretary Paciano Manguito.
“I want to help with the case and I need to know the truth and seek justice,” she said when police asked why she brought her husband’s things to the police.
She added that the she is aware that these could be used against her husband.
John Adrian allegedly wore those clothes and shoes when he left their Parañaque home together with his two young daughters on Sept. 3.
The dress, shorts, and baby carrier that the youngest daughter wore and used that day were also turned over to the MPD.
John Adrian left them in their house in Parañaque after allegedly killing his mother-in-law and her maid, Jennifer Magtulis.
