MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has four new generals after President Aquino approved their promotions.
The four newly promoted BFP officials were Chief Superintendents Bobby Baruelo, deputy chief for operations; Igmedio Bondoc Jr., the current regional director of BFP Region 5; Leonard Bañago, the regional director of BFP Region 1; and Leonides Perez, who heads the agency’s Directorate for Fire Safety and Prevention.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas led the pinning of new ranks during a joint BFP and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology oath-taking ceremony recently at the Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Police Commission Center.
President Aquino approved the promotion of the key executives through the endorsements of the chairman of the Civil Service Commission and through the recommendation of the DILG in conjunction with Republic Act 9263, the BFP and BJMP professionalization law of 2004.
