MANILA, Philippines - A raid on a suspected drug den led to the arrest of 10 persons who were sniffing methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, a commonly abused illegal drug, in Valenzuela City yesterday morning.
Armed with a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 269, Chief Inspector Allan Ruba led the anti-illegal drug team to a house in Barangay Veinte Reales and caught Tony Barsa, Christopher Demdam, Leonilo Morte, Mark Gil Felizardo, Marlon Retoria, Christian Sangel, Ronel dela Cruz, Noel Vedoral, Randy de Jesus and Rey Dante Barasa in the act of using the drug.
Ruba, assistant Valenzuela City police chief, said they had been monitoring the area after receiving reports that the place is a den for drug users.
Taken from them were four sachets of shabu, bladed weapons and drug paraphernalia. The suspects were charged with violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
