MANILA, Philippines - The Civil Service Commission (CSC) yesterday called on runners from the public and private sectors to join the 5th R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run next month to help the families of state workers who died in the line of duty.

The event will be held at the Quirino Grandstand on Sept. 12 as part of the 115th anniversary of the Philippine civil service. “Proceeds of the activity will go to CSC’s Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi), a program that aims to recognize government employees who died while in the performance or the pursuit of their duties,” the agency said.

The registration for the fun run is until Aug. 28. The run has three-kilometer, five-km and 10-km distance categories for men and women.

The CSC said forms are available at the agency’s National Capital Region office at 25 Kaliraya street in Quezon City.

Prizes that await the winners include P10,000, P8,000, and P6,000 for the first, second and third placers in the three-km category; P20,000, P16,000 and P14,000 for the five-km category; and P30,000, P24,000 and P22,000 for the 10-km category.
