MANILA, Philippines - In line with the large-scale water interruption in Metro Manila this month, the Muntinlupa City government asked Maynilad Water Services Inc. for additional water tankers to distribute water for the duration of the interruption.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi also ordered the city government’s motorpool office to augment water rations to areas affected by the water interruption.
There will be an 18-hour water interruption in Alabang, Ayala Alabang, Buli, Cupang, Poblacion, Sucat and Tunasan from 1 p.m. on Aug. 17 to 7 a.m. on Aug. 18.
However, patients admitted to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun) need not to worry about the water service interruption.
Hospital director Dr. Edwin Dimatatac said OsMun has an ample supply of water and can use reverse osmosis to produce more potable water.
Public information office chief Tez Navarro said prior to the scheduled service interruption, the city government ordered barangay officials, homeowners’ association officials and community and church leaders to disseminate information on the water supply interruption and encourage everyone to store enough water.
