MANILA, Philippines - The promoter of American hip hop singer Chris Brown was released from the Bureau of Immigration’s (BI) detention center after he posted a P50,000 bail bond Wednesday, an official said yesterday.
BI Commissioner Siegfred Mison said he signed and granted the petition for bail filed by the camp of John Michael Pio Roda last Tuesday.
Roda, a Canadian, is facing charges of working without a permit and defrauding his creditors by absconding.
He and Brown were arrested last month and charged with $1-million estafa for snubbing a New Year’s Eve event at the Philippine Arena last December.
