BI vows to stop Dahlia from leaving Philippines

Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will prevent Dahlia Guerrero-Pastor, the widow of slain international racer Ferdinand Pastor, from leaving the country once it receives a copy of a hold departure order issued by a Quezon City court, an official said yesterday.

As of yesterday afternoon, the BI has yet to receive a copy of the HDO, reportedly sent through snail mail, BI spokesperson Elaine Tan said.

The HDO was issued by Quezon City Regional Trial Court (QCRTC) Branch 85 Judge Luisito Cortez.

Tan said once the BI receives the document, the agency will encode Dahlia’s name in its system and alert BI personnel stationed at international seaports and airports not to let her leave the country.

It was reported that the court dismissed Dahlia’s petition to defer the proceedings of the parricide case filed against her.

She has yet to surface after she was linked to the killing of her husband on June 12, 2014.

When asked if she is still in the country, Tan said they are still verifying her travel records.
