Noy swears in 50 PNP officials

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino swore in yesterday 50 officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) led by newly appointed chief Director General Ricardo Marquez and Special Action Force (SAF) commander Chief Superintendent Moro Virgilio Lazo, who was appointed to the post last March.

In a simple ceremony at the Rizal Hall of Malacañang, Aquino also administered the oath of office to Deputy Director General Danilo Constantino, who was among the contenders for the top PNP post; Chief Superintendent Noli Taliño, who was named officer-in-charge of the SAF following the Mamasapano encounter last January; PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor and his predecessor, Director Wilfredo Franco.

Also included in the oath-taking were Directors Dominador Aquino Jr., Christopher Laxa and James Andres Melad.

Chief Superintendents Ulysses Abellera, Arnold Albis, Roberto Aliggayu, Ramon Apolinario, Noel Armilla, Pablo Francisco Balagtas, Allen Bantolo,? Eddie Benigay, Pierre Bucsit, Joel Victor Canapi, Vert Chavez, Bernardo Diaz, Federico Dulay Jr., Teresita Dumlao, Rolando Felix, Manuel Gaerlan, Rainier Idio; Rudy Lacadin, Fernando Mendez, Jonathan Ferdinand Miano, Rolando Nana, Ramon Ochotorena, Joel Pagdilao, Efren Perez, Alexander Pumecha, Robert Quenery, Nestor Quinsay Jr., Eric Serafin Reyes, Ronald Santos, Keith Ernald Siñgian, John Sosito, Alberto Supapo, Napoleon Taas, Rey Tang, Edgardo Tinio Jr., Cedrick Train, Orlando Ualat, Marietto Valerio Jr., Ericson Velasquez and Ricardo Zapata also took their oath of office.

Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, acting secretary of the Directorial Staff of the Chief Directorial Staff, failed to make it to the ceremony.?
