MANILA, Philippines - A drinking session in a videoke bar in Malabon City turned bloody when a police officer shot dead a man following a heated argument Saturday night.
Carlo Duras, 27, logistics officer of Valenzuela City, died after being shot by a policeman who responded to the incident, said city police chief Senior Superintendent Severino Abad Jr.
Abad said 62-year-old Valentino Kasiguran was singing with his two friends at around 11 p.m. when Duras and his three companions – Loel Martin, Raymond Sotea and another unidentified man – beat them up.
Kasiguran at first ignored Duras’ group but later ran outside the GTO videoke bar located along Rivera street in Barangay Tinajeros.
Police Officer 3 Aldrich Reagan de Leon of the Malabon police warrant and subpoena section was alerted of the incident by bystanders.
The group of men was ganging up on Kasiguran when De Leon interfered and tried to pacify them.
