Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Customs seized 16 grams of shabu, with a street value of P165,000, hidden in the heels of a pair of sandals in a package bound for Saudi Arabia.

In a statement issued yesterday, BOC Deputy Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the parcel was sent by Adela Salmero to Jennylen Simbrano through Jesse Youssef of Khamis General Hospital.

The BOC said the shabu was discovered when the package went through an x-ray machine at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and several round shapes were detected in the heels of the sandals.
