Kaugnay sa Kentex fire ‘hindi kami nagkulang’ -- Mayor Gatchalian

MANILA, Philippines - Nanindigan kahapon si Valenzuela City Mayor Rexlon Gatchalian na walang pagkakasala ang pamahalaang lungsod sa naganap na malagim na sunog sa pabrika ng Kentex Corporation na ikinasawi ng 74 katao.

Sinabi ni Gatchalian na hindi sila nababahala sa hindi na sila nasorpresa at hindi rin nababahala nang isama sila ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na isama sa mga kakasuhan kaugnay ng naturang sunog.

 “We are not worried at all because we did nothing illegal nor did we violate any laws. We will answer the details of the complaint squarely,” ayon sa padalang mensahe ni Gatcha­lian sa PSN. 

Sa anunsyo ng DOJ, inirekomendang kasuhan ng pag­labag sa Section 11.2.a (4) at (5) ng Republic Act 9514 o Fire Code of the Philippines. 

Inirekomenda ring sampahan ng kasong paglabag sa Section 3 (3) ng RA 3019 o Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act si Gatchalian kasama ang kanyang mga opisyal na sina Business Permits and Licensing Office head (BPLO) Renchi May Padayao; Eduardo Carreon, BPLO licensing officer at narelieved na Valenzuela Fire Marshall Mel Jose Lagan at Safety Inspector SFO2 Rolando Avendan.

Iginiit ni Gatchalian na sakop ng memorandum circular na inilabas ni dating Department of Interior and Local Go­vernment (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo ang pagpapatupad nila ng “one stop shop” sa pagbibigay ng “provisional business permits”.

Handa umano silang sagutin bawat punto ang kasong isasampa sa kanila kapag pormal na itong naisampa at nakatanggap sila ng kopya.
