MANILA, Philippines - Two snatchers moonlighting as pedicab drivers landed in jail after they were caught stealing a woman’s pearl earrings worth P20,000 in Sta. Cruz, Manila Monday afternoon.
Arrested were Rodney Villanueva and Ricardo Salazar, both 21 years old and residing in Quiapo.
Policemen, who have been casing them for several days, caught them in the act of pulling Shirley Molato’s earrings in Plaza Sta. Cruz at 5:45 p.m.
Police started monitoring the suspects’ activities amid complaints of snatching against them.
Police recovered the earrings from the duo. The suspects were detained at the Manila Police District headquarters facing theft charges.
