MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Postal Corp. (PhlPost) will issue today the Visit Philippines 2015 special stamps to encourage local and foreign tourists to visit the country’s attractions.

PhlPost Postmaster General Josefina de la Cruz said the special stamps aim to boost the government’s tourism campaign “It’s More Fun in the Philippines.”

PhlPost will circulate 39,850 copies of these special stamps printed by Amstar Inc. on imported paper with no watermark. Each stamp costs P10.

The stamp measures 25 mm x 50 mm with layout by in-house artist Victorino Serevo.

The stamps and souvenir sheet will be available starting today at all PhlPost shops in the country.

De la Cruz said the Philippines is famous not only for its diving, trekking and magnificent scenic spots but also for fun and colorful festivities. The country is also known for its rich culture and hospitable people, she said.

PhlPost marketing management and support services manager Enrique Tagle earlier said that even before the issuance of the special stamps, the agency has been helping in the promotion of the country’s tourist spots through stamps.

Last year, PhlPost came out with watchtower stamps ingrained with sand, four festival mask stamps as well as those featuring waterfalls.
