Japanese dies in Makati hotel

MANILA, Philippines - A 62-year-old Japanese man died in a hotel in Makati City after complaining of chest pain Friday night.

Police identified the fatality as Hirohi Nakamura, a reservations agent and temporarily billeted at a five-star hotel in Makati.

Reports said that Nakamura checked into the hotel with a Japanese woman at around 3:30 p.m.

After a few hours, Nakamura complained of difficulty in breathing, prompting the hotel staff to call for medical assistance.

Employees of the hotel rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

The Makati police is coordinating with the Japanese embassy in investigating the death of Nakamura.
