Newborn snatched in QC hospital

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A baby boy was kidnapped by a still unidentified woman from a hospital in Barangay Bagong Bantay, Quezon City Sunday morning.

Police Officer 2 Armalyn Lomasang of the Quezon City Police District’s Masambong station said the woman,  who pretended to be a resident doctor at the Dr. Montano Ramos General Hospital,  asked permission from the baby’s grandmother, Merly Esguerra, to take the baby to check his heartbeat.

The baby, Cyron, was born on March 5.

Esguerra woke up her son-in-law, Ronnel Salvador, to inform him that his son was taken by the supposed doctor.

Salvador later found out that the woman was not his child’s doctor when he went to the nurses’ station to get a glass of hot water.

He was advised by the nurses to wait for the doctor who would check on his baby.

The hospital’s employees looked for the baby but failed to find him.

Authorities are checking closed-circuit television camera footage to identify the suspect.
