Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A 76-year-old church volunteer was killed and her twin sister was reported to be in critical condition when a robber broke into a house they were taking care of in Quezon City Thursday night.

Purisima Torregosa, single, and her sister, Pura, were in the house owned by a certain Mr. Go in Barangay Talayan when an unidentified robber entered the house and stole a 22-inch LED television, according to Police Officer 2 Shun Patrick Petuco.

Pura’s son, Albert, told police the gate was open when he arrived shortly after 9 p.m. and saw his aunt lying on the floor near the main door.

He saw his mother was still alive and sought the help of a neighbor to bring her to the Chinese General Hospital.

Investigators said Purisima had been bludgeoned to death and Pura suffered similar injuries.
