Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) stripped two towing companies of their accreditation yesterday and suspended four others for illegal towing.

The accreditation of Mac and Paul Towing & Trucking Services and MCT Towing Services were revoked while that of JARZ Towing Services was suspended for 30 days for violating towing guidelines as well as threatening and coercing motorists, MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said.

“The operations of these accredited towing companies are being closely monitored by our agency to ensure that the public is protected from any kind of abuse,” Tolentino said.

Tolentino said another firm, ARD Towing Services, was also suspended for 15 days for illegal towing, harassment, and threats. Metal Gear Towing Services and Fighter Towing Services were suspended for 10 and five days respectively for illegal towing and imprudence.
