‘Fly high’ tablets popular among partygoers

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A new type of illegal drug is gaining popularity among club and partygoers in the country, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Friday.

The “fly high” tablet is a mix of the party drug ecstasy, shabu and the erectile dysfunction drug sildenafil.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said the new party drug’s consumers are those who “belong to the affluent and high-end of society,” adding that these tablets are being sold and bought online.

The first time a shipment of these tablets was seized was in December 2013. In 2014, six more shipments were seized – a total of 1,130 tablets and 29.9 grams of powder were recovered during operations in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Makati City, Manila, Cebu City and Cavite City, Cacdac said.
