Teen, woman slain in Manila
MANILA, Philippines - A 14-year-old girl and an unidentified woman were shot dead hours apart in Manila Friday night.
Marilou Asis was shot thrice in the head at past 9 p.m. in Baseco Compound. She died before she could be rushed to the hospital.
Her killers have yet to be identified.
Her father, Rolando Asis, checked on his daughter’s remains yesterday morning, telling investigators he knew she had been shot the night before but that he and his wife were too tired.
Homicide investigators are looking at drug angle as a possible motive.
Rolando told police his daughter was hardheaded and that she was at fault for being friends with teenagers allegedly addicted to model airplane glue.
Shortly after Asis’ murder, another woman was shot in the head in Tondo at past midnight Friday.
The woman, about 30 to 35 years old, has yet to be identified. She was clad in green shirt and blue shorts. Both bodies were taken to St. Rich Funeral Homes.
