LTFRB suspends 20 buses

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has suspended 20 buses of the First North Luzon Transit Inc. after one of its vehicles figured in an accident along the North Luzon Expressway.

The board ordered the bus firm to ground 20 of its buses for 30 days while an investigation is ongoing, LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez said yesterday.

He said the bus firm will be given a chance to explain why its certificate of public convenience should not be revoked.

On Jan. 4, a First North Luzon bus hit a Hyundai Starex van near Apalit, Pampanga, injuring Rene and Fortune Ledesma, honorary consuls of Bulgaria and Monaco, along with several family members and staff.
