MANILA, Philippines - Streets near the Circuit in Makati will be closed tomorrow for the annual Caracol Festival, the city’s official festival, an official said yesterday.
The stretch of Hippodromo street from Liwayway street to A.P. Reyes street will be closed to traffic, as well as the stretch of A.P. Reyes street from J.P. Rizal to Pascua street, at 3 p.m., said city public safety chief Hermenegildo San Miguel.
Portions of streets adjacent to Hippodromo street will also be closed, specifically Liwayway, Sampaguita, Kakarong, Zapote, Hiwaga and Economia.
According to San Miguel, only the gate of Circuit Makati near the intersection of Taliba and Hippodromo streets will be open to the public.
Vehicles plying J.P. Rizal going to Taft Avenue should go straight past A.P. Reyes street instead of turning right. Those bound toward EDSA-Guadalupe may take Kalayaan Avenue, which will be open to two-way traffic.
Jeepneys plying the Mantrade-Libertad-PRC route, coming from Pasong Tamo Extension, should turn left at J.P. Rizal then left to Pasong Tirad toward their destination.
