QCPD to fete policewoman who killed serial rapist-robber

MANILA, Philippines - The policewoman who shot dead a suspect in the series of robbery and rape cases in Quezon City will get commendation next week, a police official said yesterday.

Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Joel Pagdilao will commend Police Officer 3 Juvy Jumuad at Camp Karingal, QCPD spokesperson Senior Inspector Maricar Taqueban said.

Police said Jumuad killed Mark Soque, 29, after he grabbed the policewoman’s gun while they were inside the fiscal’s office for his inquest last Monday.

Members of the QCPD’s special investigation task group responsible for the arrest of Soque will also be lauded, according to Pagdilao.

Soque was tagged in the killing of a Korean woman in a coffee shop in Quezon City last week.

Police rushed him to the East Avenue Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.
