Businesswoman kills pedestrian in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines - A businesswoman driving a Hyundai Sta. Fe hit a still unidentified woman who was crossing EDSA’s southbound lane in Quezon City yesterday.

Katherine Yu, who is in the custody of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, according to investigators.

The QCPD’s Traffic Enforcement Unit described the victim, who was estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, as fair-skinned, approximately 4’11” to 5’2” in height, and with black, shoulder-length hair.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority rescue personnel rushed her to the East Avenue Medical Center, where she was declared dead on arrival.
