MANILA, Philippines - A man tagged in Monday’s killing of a Korean woman was arrested in Quezon City yesterday.

Mark Soque, 29, was reportedly planning to stage a heist when he was arrested by operatives of the  Quezon City Police District (QCPD) at a mall along Commonwealth Avenue.

The suspect was also reportedly involved in a series of robbery and rape incidents.

Police seized from Soque a hand grenade, a caliber .45 pistol, several plastic sachets said to contain shabu and a red Yamaha motorcycle.

Mayor Herbert Bautista and QCPD Director Joel Pagdilao presented Soque in a press conference attended by Korean consul and police attaché Yongjeung Park, the complainants and some Koreans.

Before the press conference started, Bautista and the victims kicked and punched the suspect.

Pagdilao said charges of robbery with homicide, rape and illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs would be filed against Soque.

The suspect reportedly shot and killed Mi Kyung Park in a restaurant along Holy Spirit Drive.

Park asked Bautista to step up police visibility to protect some 5,000 Koreans living in the city.
