MANILA, Philippines - Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) was promoted by President Aquino to Chief Superintendent yesterday.
He took his oath of office before Philippine National Police officer-in-charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina at the PNP Star Officers’ Lounge in Camp Crame.
Pagdilao is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1984.
He is a holder of two master’s degrees – one in public administration, major in law enforcement and public safety, and the other in business administration.
Pagdilao is on his third year as a law student.
He took over the QCPD on Oct. 10, 2014 after Chief Superintendent Richard Albano was removed by Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas.
Pagdilao, who was given arrival honors at the QCPD headquarters in Camp Karingal yesterday, assured the public that the city police will focus on muggings and drug-related cases.
Recently, robbers struck at a furniture shop along Katipunan Avenue and ordered the victims to take off their clothes.
Pagdilao said they are investigating at least two persons who may be behind a string of robberies in the city.
