Errand girl wins P32-M lotto pot

MANILA, Philippines - A 24-year-old woman working as an errand girl in Quezon City has claimed the P32 million prize she won in the 6/42 lotto’s Dec. 23, 2014 draw, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said yesterday.

The winner, who is still single, religiously maintained the numbers she picked from the birthdates of her family, according to acting PCSO chairman Jose Ferdinand Rojas II.

“I had no other idea how else to overcome poverty, so I tried lotto,” Rojas quoted the woman as saying.

He said the errand girl saved some of the money she earned from performing errands and small jobs for her neighbors in order to have P20 to buy lotto tickets.

The errand girl, who is the 2,005th lotto millionaire, plans to put up a business and help her siblings finish their studies, Rojas said.
