Bebot Sison Jr., Cecille Suerte Felipe - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A six-foot python was found in the branches of a caimito (star apple) tree near the White House, the official residence of the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, at Camp Crame in Quezon City yesterday.

The snake, whose body was five inches in diameter, was captured at around 6 a.m., by Headquarters Support Service personnel who used a vehicle with an automatic ladder to reach it, PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor said.

The python will be turned over to the Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau, he said.
