Jobless man, stepson steal from neighbor in Pasig

Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A 42-year-old jobless man and his stepson spent Christmas Eve in jail for stealing at least P700,000 worth of gadgets and belongings from a neighbor in Pasig City.

Manuel Santiago and Anthony Christopher Lopez, 20, both residing in Brentwood Mansion Condominium in Barangay Santolan, admitted to stealing from realty firm executive Daisy Bayan, 39.

The two men were seen on surveillance camera footage in the condominium’s elevator holding Bayan’s possessions, Pasig police chief Senior Superintendent Jose Hidalgo Jr. said.

Santiago’s wife arranged the surrender of her husband and son and the return of the items stolen from Bayan, Hidalgo said.

He added that he ordered the filing of robbery charges against Santiago and Lopez.
