2 men nabbed for restaurant owner’s kidnap

MANILA, Philippines - Two men were arrested yesterday for kidnapping a restaurant owner and hiding him in a motel in Caloocan City.

The victim, Allan Brooks, managed to escape from Jedidiah Cluterio, 28, and Albert Rovante, 29, and seek the help of police officers in Bagong Barrio, city police deputy chief Superintendent Ferdinand del Rosario said.

Brooks told police Cluterio befriended him and urged him to see a potential buyer for his car after he told the suspect he was selling it. He said Cluterio kidnapped him in Paombong, Bulacan and took him to the motel blindfolded and hogtied, adding that Rovante was ordered to guard him.

Cluterio told police Brooks was his lover and he only kidnapped him after the restaurant owner failed to give him the money he promised.
