Cop kills 2 men who tried to rob him

MANILA, Philippines - A policeman shot dead two men who tried to rob him after he had withdrawn money from an ATM machine in Quezon City Sunday night.

Senior Police Officer 3 Alejandro Parta, 51, assigned with the Police Security and Protection Group in Camp Crame, was taken to St. Luke’s Medical Center for stab wounds in his chest and cheek, Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao said.

Investigators said Parta was walking near the intersection of 14th street and Broadway Avenue when the two men tried to grab his sling bag at around 8 p.m.

The robbers stabbed Parta when he refused to give up his bag. Parta drew his gun and shot the two men.
