2 theft suspects caught in QC
MANILA, Philippines - Two men were arrested by policemen after they were caught in the act of pilfering from a parked car by its owner, who had gone jogging in Lagro, Quezon City.
Reymond Atienza, 38, and Allan Alvarez, 32, were arrested on Wednesday based on the complaint of Eduard Casidsid, said Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao.
According to Pagdilao, Casidsid was jogging in Barangay Greater Lagro at around 8 a.m. when he heard his car alarm go off at past 8 a.m., QCPD Station 5 commander Superintendent Dennis de Leon said.
Casidsid said he saw two men rushing from his Mitsubishi Adventure, carrying his wallet and mobile phone.
Policemen from QCPD Station 5, who were within the vicinity patrolling, noticed the incident, chased the suspects and recovered the stolen items.
The suspects were charged with theft before the office of Assistant City Prosecutor Conrado Rosario.
