MANILA, Philippines - A 20-year-old man, suspected of being a drug dealer, was killed in a reported shootout with police officers in Barangay La Huerta, Parañaque City yesterday.
Alex Cambang and his four companions allegedly shot at police officers conducting an anti-drug operation in the area at past 6 a.m., Parañaque police chief Senior Superintendent Ariel Andrade told The STAR.
While Cambang was killed, his four companions – whose names were withheld – were arrested.
A .30 caliber revolver, a hand grenade, a three-foot sword, a fan knife and several sachets said to contain shabu were recovered from the scene of the encounter, Andrade said.
