Rob gang chief killed
MANILA, Philippines - One of Quezon City’s most wanted personalities, said to be the head of a robbery gang, was slain in an encounter with policemen at past midnight yesterday.
Martin Fernandez, 33, died following the encounter in Barangay Kaligayahan, said Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao.
According to Pagdilao, Fernandez was at the top of the most wanted list of the QCPD Station 5, which covers the Fairview and Lagro areas.
Station 5 commander Superintendent Dennis de Leon said Fernandez headed a robbery group engaged in burglaries and muggings.
