Perseus Echeminada - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Two alleged drug dealers were killed during a raid on a suspected drug den in Barangay Talon 2, Las Piñas City yesterday morning.

Mandi Solayman Abubakar and Rasid Sabandal had barricaded themselves in a house in Samata Village and began shooting at the police officers, according to city police chief Senior Superintendent Adolfo Samala Jr.

Special Weapons and Tactics police officers blasted the door of the house and shot it out with the suspects.

The raid was staged based on a search warrant for the house, reported to be the safehouse of Abubakar, an alleged big-time drug dealer, Samala said.

He added that five pistols, a grenade, two homemade 12-gauge shotguns, ammunition, five weighing scales and several packets of what investigators suspected to be shabu were found at the safehouse.
