MANILA, Philippines - More than 600 national and local officials, policy experts, river managers from the public and private sectors, the academe, leaders in clean water technology, river advocates and students are set to attend the International River Summit today.
International and local experts in the field of river and environmental management will share their knowledge, studies, and best practices during the two-day summit at the Marikina Convention Center.
Topics like developing healthy rivers, governance of the river basin, river ecosystem management, river eco-tourism, biodiversity conservation, roles of industry, climate change and disaster risk reduction management are some of the subject matters that will be included in the discussions during the summit.
The summit was organized by the Marikina City government in partnership with the Rotary Club of Marikina and co-organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-River Basin Control Office and the League of Cities of the Philippines.
