Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Four persons were injured when a van rear-ended a bus along MacArthur Highway in Caloocan City before dawn yesterday.

Marlon David Gonzales, Laurencio Terzo, Riza Lepasana and Eduardo Ortega, the van’s passengers, were taken to the Caloocan Medical Center for treatment.

Aljohn Constantino, the driver of the Hyundai Starex van (WCD-323), drove against the flow of traffic before hitting the back of an AC bus bound for Monumento at around 3:40 a.m., according to Police Officer 3 Nelson Arcito.

The collision caused the bus to hit a plant box on the sidewalk and a post in front of a funeral parlor.

Constantino told police he was not drunk, but was forced to drive on the wrong side of the road after the van was rear-ended by another vehicle.
