Mandaluyong jailbreak mastermind arrested
MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested the alleged mastermind in the escape in July of 11 detainees from the Mandaluyong police jail after he visited his family in Pasig Tuesday.
Jordan Villadolid, who is facing charges of falsification of public documents, was nabbed by police officers at his home at 324 Santos street, Barangay Ugong at around 1:30 p.m.
Senior Superintendent Tyrone Masigon, Mandaluyong police chief, said an informant tipped off his office that Villadolid had returned home after almost three months of hiding.
Masigon said it was Villadolid’s wife who smuggled into the jail the saw used in cutting off the iron window grills of the toilet behind the detention cell on July 21.
Police said the suspect’s arrest brought to seven the number of inmates recaptured by the police.
Operatives of the Eastern Police District’s Special Operations Unit and Mandaluyong police had arrested Alexander de la Cruz, Noel Gonzales, Archie Pacheco, Albert Llaneta, Nelson Yambao and Gabby Capistrano.
Four other detainees – Anjo Remanes, Jason Santos, Rogelio Reyes and Ferdinand Nana – remain at large.
