MANILA, Philippines – Six students were injured when two school service vehicles collided in Quezon City yesterday morning.
The injured students ranged in age from seven to 15, said Chief Inspector Diogenes Amor Jr.
One of the injured students was a son of actor Dennis Trillo and beauty queen Carlene Aguilar, Superintendent Ely Pintang confirmed. He said investigators have yet to talk to the students’ parents to see if they would press charges against the drivers and operators of the service vehicles.
The collision, which happened in Barangay Lourdes at past 5 a.m., involved two vans, a Mitsubishi Canter and a Kia Pregio.
Lito Papa was driving the Canter along N. Roxas street, coming from Mayon street and going to D. Tuazon street while Rasmur Padios Mallis was driving the Pregio along Speaker Perez street heading to Banawe Road.
The two vehicles collided upon reaching the intersection of N. Roxas and Speaker Perez streets.
Because of the impact, Papa’s vehicle hit an electric post and Mallis’ van crashed into a concrete wall.
The students were brought to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center and Chinese Hospital for treatment.
