Bulacan pol’s kin linked to road rage in QC
MANILA, Philippines - A University of the Philippines (UP) professor filed a complaint about an alleged road rage incident yesterday in Quezon City, reportedly involving a vehicle of a Bulacan political family.
The female professor, who asked not to be named for security reasons, identified a white Land Cruiser (PQS-904) and a silver Toyota Innova (ZEL-124) as the two vehicles she encountered along Congressional Avenue at around noon.
Records showed the Innova is registered to Priscilla Meneses, mother of Bulacan, Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses.
The Land Cruiser is registered to Mactan Construction Co., with business address along N. Domingo street in San Juan.
In the complaint she filed with the Quezon City Police District, the professor said she was in a Toyota Fortuner driven by her son, and her two grandchildren and two nannies were with them.
They were then on their way from UP to Himlayang Pilipino when the Land Cruiser cut in front of them.
In the account of her husband, also a UP professor, their son gave way but the Land Cruiser again allegedly cut the Fortuner’s path. The husband was not in the Fortuner at that time.
The son gave way and let the Land Cruiser speed off but the Innova suddenly appeared.
At that point, a man in the Innova’s front passenger seat rolled down the window and allegedly shouted invectives at the son, berating him for not noticing that they were “escorting” the Land Cruiser’s occupants.
The Innova blocked the female professor’s vehicle and the same man who shouted at her son got out of the Innova and allegedly pulled out a gun.
She said she intervened before the gun was pointed at her son, telling the armed man there were children in their car.
The armed man returned to the Innova, whose driver sped away following the confrontation.
