Tondo fire leaves 150 families homeless

MANILA, Philippines - More than 150 families were rendered homeless after a fire gutted more than 50 houses in Tondo, Manila shortly before noon yesterday.

A portion of Manila Rep. Benjamin Asilo’s house was also affected by the blaze, which started at the first floor of Efren dela Cruz’s house on Franco street, the city’s fire department said.

The blaze reached Task Force Bravo at past noon.

No one was injured in the fire and arson investigators have yet to determine what caused it.
